You must make these No-Bake Black Forest Cookies if you’re searching for a crazy easy, incredibly tasty dessert to satiate your chocolate cravings!
I figured these would be good, but I didn’t expect them to be SO good. They’re almost impossible to resist. It’s difficult to stop at just one. My entire family concurs! My husband couldn’t stop raving about these cherry-filled chocolate cookies, saying things like, “I guess I’ll just have one more,” with his mouth full of cookies.
We all agreed that after chilling, these sandwich cookies tasted better and were simpler to consume. For starters, they’re best served cold. The chocolate cookie softens as it sits. Which may appear to be a terrible thing, but it isn’t in this case. We didn’t think so, at least.
With the addition of canned cherry pie filling and sweetened cream cheese, you’ve got a simple yet elegant dessert that’s suitable for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion.
We liked the softer, refrigerated chocolate wafers to the crispier, freshly prepared cookie sandwiches since they were extremely similar to the chocolate cookie half of an ice cream sandwich. Who doesn’t enjoy a good ice cream sandwich?
I flavored the cream cheese with almond extract because I like the flavor, but vanilla would also work. You’ll probably have some leftover pie filling in your can, which you can keep for ice cream or enjoy with a spoon!
These gorgeous little treats are a combination of cherry pie, cheesecake, and chocolate-covered cherries, all wrapped up in a tasty package. You can make these in a matter of minutes and wow your family and friends.
Really, you’ve got to try these No-Bake Black Forest Cookies! Trust me, you’re going to love them! All the chocolaty cherry goodness of a Black Forest Cake, without all the work! WINNER!! Black Forest Cookies are the EASIEST holiday cookies you’ll ever make, because you don’t actually have to make them! It’s true! These are NO BAKE cookies, y’all!
ARE YOU READY? KEEP SCROLLING!
1 (9 oz.) package chocolate wafer cookies
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup cherry pie filling
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
Cream together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and almond extract in an electric mixer until smooth.
On a chocolate wafer cookie, spread around 1 teaspoon cream cheese mixture. To make a sandwich, spread about 2 teaspoons of cherry pie filling on one cookie, then top with another cookie. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Rep with the rest of the cookies and filling.
In a small bowl, combine chocolate chips. Warm the cream in the microwave or in a small saucepan until it just begins to boil around the edges. Whisk in the chocolate chips until they are smooth and glossy. Chocolate should be drizzled over the cookies.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving, or until ready.
Recipe Prep Tips:
You can purchase store bought, soft, chewy, chocolate cookies, chocolate frosting in a can, a jar of cherry preserves, and maraschino cherries with the stems to make this recipe.
To make cleanup easier, place parchment paper over your work surface. If you’re going to cheat with an easy recipe, make the cleanup as simple as possible!
Gather the ingred̾i̾ents and line the cookies on parchment paper. Assemble the cookies by topping with cherry preserves, piping on the cherry infused icing, and finishing with a cherry.
It’s that simple!
